The European Commission approved the extension of Cyprus’ Tonnage Tax Scheme (“TTS”) for another ten (10) years, thereby solidifying certainty for Ship Ownership, Ship Management and Ship Chartering activities. Cyprus has the only EU-approved “Open Registry” regime allowing companies the choice of being taxed on their net tonnage instead of their profits. Cyprus is on both the Paris and Tokyo MoU White Lists.
